There are many types of wedding invitations cards that can be used when inviting people to you wedding. The choices can be overwhelming but when keeping with the theme of the wedding, the choices can be dwindled down significantly for you. If having a small wedding, the wedding invitation cards don't need to be extremely elaborate. If the wedding is a large, grand affair, the wedding invitation cards will probably need to be a bit more formal.
Formal wedding invitations cards will generally include many items. This includes the wedding invitation itself, an envelope within the mailing envelope to hold the wedding invitation card and an RSVP card so guests can respond. A smaller wedding invitation card may only hold the wedding invitation. Online retailers will generally have both types of wedding invitations to select from.
Once you have decided on the tone of the wedding invitation card, there are many different types to choose from. Engraved or embossed wedding invitations will be stamped so that a mould is embedded into the wedding card. These are considered one of the most formal wedding cards. If you want the wedding invitation card to be a bit less formal, you may want to consider thermographed wedding cards. This will raise the lettering, making it still appear very elegant. If you're looking for something even more casual, you can create your own wedding cards with a home computer. These can be very personal.
Whatever type of wedding invitation card you decide on, the wording is very important. Generally, the wedding invitation wording will be from the parent's standpoint. Something such as, "Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Brown with Mr. Drake Mitchell." The formality of the wedding invitation wording will continue with the rest of the wedding invitation card. If the wedding is going to be a bit more casual, the wedding invitation wording can be as simple as "Robert and Elizabeth are going to be married on June 30 and would love for you to come celebrate with them!"
Some of the guests that receive a wedding invitation card will send gifts right away, as well as bringing gifts to the ceremony. If any gifts are received before the wedding, it's still appropriate to send a wedding thank you card right away. The wedding thank you cards should be sent within two weeks of receiving the gift. Many couples think that a phone call is okay and it may be but people do appreciate a wedding thank you card as one reminder of the events leading up to, and including, the wedding. For gifts that are received at the actual wedding itself, it's imperative that everyone receives a wedding thank you card.
