When one is out on the town looking to buy a new piece of jewelry pendants are probably the most popular style of jewelry. The reason being is because they can be worn daily or out on a fancy night out on the town. When looking through the vast selection of jewelry pendants in jewelry stores some of the most popular styles are diamonds, fancy gold, and pearl pendants. When shopping for pearl pendants there is a large selection of Tahitian, Akoya, Freshwater and South Sea pearl available. Freshwater pearls tend to be in white or pinkish natural colors and are usually a little smaller than Tahitian or South Sea pearls. Most people like to go with a nice simple yet elegant setting in white or yellow gold, usually 14k. Gold. Another classic look is to go with an Akoya pearl pendant because the luster is usually a little higher with akoya pearls. This look gives you a nice high finish mirror like luster that is very popular.

Freshwater pearls compared to Akoya pearls tend to have a little softer style of glow to the pearl. This soft glow or soft luster is very popular among pearl lovers across the world. Personally its one of my favorites out there. Theres something about the soft lavender or soft pink freshwater pearl with 14k. white gold looks absolutely fantastic in a pearl pendant. Some Pearl Pendants have small diamonds set in the pendants as well to enhance the look of the pearl when set together. Also, sometimes colored stones are set into the pendant to match with the overtone of the pearl that is chosen to be set with the enhancer setting or finding. At other times, two or three different types of pearls are used in one setting. Such as a Tahitian pearl, a South Sea pearl and a Freshwater pearl will all be used together to give a certain type of look for a specially designed pearl pendant. This may be a drop style of pendant or at other times the pearls could be stacked on top of each other
