Handbags, purses manufacturing industry is influenced and run according to fashion trends. Bag manufacturing is largely a consumer driven industry that changes its product line depending upon customer choices and supplier - retailer feedbacks. The trends in manufacturing of bags depends on: Designers Bag manufacturing industry is vastly influenced by fashion trends. All over the world, the fashion designers have been the deciding factors for setting trends of usage in bag industry. With strict regulations on fur and plastics, manufacturers have to look for other naturally available and alternative materials. Now knitted fabric, denim, patchwork, lace, crochet, studded leather, woven tweed and wools are also being used for manufacture of bags. The bag manufacturers are increasingly experimenting with different textures and fabrics to maintain that competitive edge. Hardware accessories Bags are adorned with embellishments like metal studs, tassels, buckles, zips, beads, embroidery, ribbons etc. The adornments are fashion driven and the "bling" value increases or decreases with changing tastes of people. Material trends The shifting focus towards bio-degradable and non poisonous materials has given a rise to a shift in materials being used by bag manufacturers. Materials like recyclable paper, jute, coir, etc. are being used instead of plastics and leather. The concerns with leather manufacture is the amount of poisonous effluents that arise due to treatment of leather. So, easy to maintain and natural materials are being used by bag manufacturing companies. Status Driven bags This is a trend that applies solely to designer bags. Women are always looking for a "different" designer bag that acts as a classic accessory to their simple dressing. The bag manufacturers keep in mind this factor when manufacturing unique designer bags. The recent trends in bag manufacturing focus on over sized bags with detailed stitching, sleek outer pockets, printed and textured fabrics, hardware and ironmongery accessories like buckles, rings, etc. and precise and simple shapes of bags.
