Search engine marketing is on a constant threat being stated as a spam. The reason behind such a threat is the marked resemblance between spams and search engine marketing ideas. But the fact is that search engine marketing techniques are not spams. In fact no technique is a spam. It is only the procedure which is followed in either ethical or unethical. Lets study the ethical and unethical usages of these so called spam search engine optimization techniques.

Lets begin with the hidden text factor which most search engines consider to be spam techniques. Now a hidden text is simply given so that the search engine can see and and not the viewers, as it would not make too much of a sense to the viewers anyway. So in order to avoid and confuse the users, it is better to not show it to them at all.

What the search experts have classified as spam, is something which does not harm anyone. Rather they are helpful in the better ranking of the websites which in return increase the web page traffic. None of the search engine marketing techniques thus are unethical. In fact some of them are so good that the search engines themselves use them while they are cloaking the website on to the local search engines

these so called unethical search engine optimization techniques are rather just a means of increasing the page ranks, and who dos not wish to see his website on the top position. The difference is that, some search engines have their own set patterns which are based in the compatibility of their server and their working style. Where some of these search engine marketing techniques are not very friendly. Web masters who religiously follow these search engines for their website optimization therefore consider that such techniques are harmful to their website and name them as span techniques.

It is not false that some unscrupulous SEOs uses these techniques in the wrong manner which can be classified as unlawful, but again that is just a perception, since what is right for you might not be wrong for him and vice versa. As a matter of fact the search engines are truly very poor in spotting what is wrong and what is right, it is us from whom it adopts the right and wrong concept and uses it hence forth. Therefore, it is very difficult to classify the difference between right search engine marketing techniques and spam methods.
