When you embark on keyphrase research your first instinct would be to go for the most common ones. For example if you owned an electronics website you would think "TVs" would be an excellent keyphrase, this is true. However the sad true of this is there are over 95,000,000 competing websites for this keyphrase. If you want to get to the top of Google for this keyphrase you better come armed with a big budget and have plenty of patience. The thing is, let's say you went for a generic keyphrase like TVs I would estimate that it can take up to 2 years to achieve this and that's with an excellent SEO company on your side. What do you do in the mean time to generate traffic and revenue for your website? This is where the long tail effect comes into play. It would be a far better strategy to go for the less generic keyphrases that are far more targeted and easier to achieve. These keyphrases can be far easier to achieve and can start earning you revenue from your website within around 3-6 months. For example the keyphrase "32 inch lcd tvs" has only 913,000 competing webpage's in Google. A good SEO company should be able to get you good results on this pretty quickly and it will also be a far more targeted keyphrase, as you know people are looking for a 32 inch LCD television. As where "TVs" could also pick up traffic for people looking for information on TV's. These keyphrases are just examples and you would have to do more in depth research to find out how much traffic was available for these keyphrases. If you are looking for a good SEO company who will concentrate on achieving targeted keyphrases that will get your website quicker return on its investment I would try this company. Other companies are available. Also if you are contemplating DIY optimisation I would recommend you read this excellent article first. As you can see this is a far more effective strategy for earning your website revenue. Once your website has aged and gained strength in the search engines then you can start to think about the more competitive keyphrases. Too many online business and SEO companies fail because they don't understand this, don't let your business be one of them. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
