Cheap catalog printing is the great trend nowadays in marketing and advertising. With a lot of companies downsizing, most of them really need to save those dollars from printing catalogs and channel them into other areas. However, trying to aim for cheap catalog printing isn't necessarily the right move depending on the circumstances. There are situations where a cheap catalog cannot be your medium of choice lest you turn off your markets, while in some circumstances it will be okay. That is why it is important to know when to use your cheap catalogs and of course when to exercise restraint in distributing them. To help you out in this, here are the general tips on when and when not to use a cheap catalog. Do NOT use cheap catalogs for: Shop catalogs - Your shop catalogs are your color catalogs that you display at your shop or place of business. These catalogs will be in direct contact with your customers along with yourself, your products and your shop. So it is important to give the best kind of face to your customers even on your color catalogs here. In this case, it is extremely recommended that you do not use cheap catalogs. Your shop is the most opportune place to sell your products, since people can already buy them then and there. A cheap catalog can actually hurt your chances for a sale, rather than help with the company finances. So for shop catalogs, say no to cheap printing. Luxury catalogs - Also, when printing catalogs for luxury items, it is most obviously best if you don't print cheap catalogs for them. Since luxury items are expensive, and the people that buy them are rich, you also need to spend more on catalogs for them. You can't present your rich customers with a cheap luxury catalog. They will just get turned off since the item isn't presented as well as it should be. You luxury catalog must be as beautiful and well made as the products it is advertising. Anything less than that, and your potential customers might think twice in buying your products. USE cheap catalogs for: Catalog give aways - Cheap catalogs are best given as giveaways, like a flier. You can give them around the mall, or neighborhood or you can place them in public places as "take-away" materials. Also you can use your cheap catalogs as a giveaway along with your products as customers buy them. This can be a good supplement to your plastic packaging for your products. Catalog giveaways are best kept cheap since there is a higher chance that they will get lost, or thrown into the trash. In these circumstances any resources used in producing them will get wasted, so it pays to keep that cost as minimal as you can. Don't worry about the quality. Since it is basically a giveaway, most people won't focus on the quality too much. Direct mail catalogs - Lastly, another opportunity to print cheap catalogs is through your direct mail catalogs. Most direct mail marketing campaigns mean a mass mail producing campaign. In this situation the cheaper your catalog is the more people you can reach with your marketing campaign by printing more cheap catalogs. Of course, if your catalogs are carrying luxury items, you might want to print the "cheaper" catalogs and NOT the "cheapest" ones you can print. But all in all, cheap means more catalog numbers, and more catalogs means more mailing addresses to send to. So those are the situations on where you must use, and where you must not use cheap catalog printing. They are pretty straightforward rules, so remember them so that you know what kind of catalog to display in the right circumstances.
