Given the large costs that marketing can often build up, you always want to find anyway you can to save money on it.

The smaller your company is the smaller your marketing budget is and the more important it becomes to find those ways to save money. The unfortunate truth about marketing is that you have to spend money before you actually make any.

You can't get strong sales if you don't marketing, but you need to already have the money in order to do strong marketing. This leads to a need for two things: your marketing to be as cost effective as possible, and for it to be as strong as possible.

For the latter of the two strong research is going to be the key, and you can get a lot of research done for very little if you handle things properly. A lot of research has to do less with spending money and more with watching marketing trends.

Take the time to look over how well various companies in your industry have done over the years compared with the types of marketing they were using at the time. Look back over every kind of marketing you've done if you've been around for any length of time, and see what worked and what was a little disappointing.

You could even go right out on the streets and ask people directly what they like and what they haven't been impressed with at all. The truth is that some forms of marketing are just doing to be stronger with the public than others. Ask that very public what they enjoy and what they've seen too much of.

All of this information will lead to much stronger advertisements that ensure you have a better success rate with your advertisements.

As for the second point, there are ways to cut down your costs as well, such as by using commercial printing. This kind of printing is based off of the idea of getting large orders done all at once. And with everything in life, if you buy something in bulk, you naturally save on the costs per individual unit.

With commercial printing the more you get printed the cheaper it becomes per unit. That means you would do well to plan your marketing out well in advance, and then get as much of it printed at once as you can. You automatically save a lot on your printing costs compared to what you would spend if you had done it all in multiple, smaller batches.

If you don't have the massive marketing budget you would like then you just have to accept that sometimes you need to find the cheaper ways to market, along with making sure every kind of marketing you get done is as good as it can be.
