Postcard printing
is a vital arm of any direct mail marketing campaign. However, like all
direct mail promotional programs, the winter holidays are where a lot
of the materials can get lost or destroyed. With colder and sometimes
wetter weather ahead, normal postcard printing cannot produce the
postcards you need that can last intact to your target market. Do not worry though. In this guide I have a few ideas that might just help you to produce just the right full color postcards that can be tough and effective all throughout the winter. Let us first talk about the thickness of the postcard. Thicker cards Not all postcards have the same thickness. For example, postcards that are within your usual magazines are pretty thin while your standard travel postcards can be almost as thick as cardboard. If you want the perfect postcards for promotions during the winter holidays, your best bet are thicker postcards. Thicker postcards will be durable enough to last a long time even in cold or wet weather conditions. Moreover, it should be tough enough to physically handle the delivery process without any kind of degradation of its quality. So you should think about printing thicker postcards for marketing this winter. Protective coatings To add that extra resistance to your postcards, it is also wise to ask for protective coatings. Ask your postcard printer if they offer the addition of special coatings to your postcard paper to make them more resistant to moisture. This is very important especially during the winter holidays where moisture can really damage promotional materials. So try and spend a little bit on protective coatings for your color postcards this winter. It should make your promotions look a little bit better once they arrive at their destinations. Plastic postcards If you have a lot more in your promotional budget, you might also want to invest in plastic promotional postcards. Plastic postcards are not only tough, they are also quite long lived during the winter holidays. You'll be communicating your marketing message well into the winter months since those postcards do not deteriorate easily. Smaller more mobile postcards Finally, if you want your promotional color postcards to really have an impact and last the winter holidays, you might want to make your postcards smaller. Smaller postcards are usually cheaper and easier to keep and transport. This means that small postcards are pretty mobile and the changes of it getting to the reader intact are better than large postcards which are always prone to some edge bending and tears. So if you can, try printing smaller postcards for mobility. So that is how you make promotional postcards last for the winter season. Make them tougher, better and more mobile.
