If you have the time, you should certainly consider sending a newsletter to your customers. Continue to build your mailing list, and send a newsletter to the people on it regularly. Monthly or quarterly (every three months) newsletters are usually the most effective.

However, your newsletters will be most effective if you incorporate certain design elements into them. You do not want to simply send out some plain old black and white pages and call it a newsletter. Instead, make it interesting enough to entice your customers to read and want to know more.

Here are some ideas for you to consider for your next newsletter printing project:

Make Them Aesthetically Pleasing

Your newsletters should appeal to the reader's eye. Avoid using plain old text or black and white images. Instead, use a lot of white space and colorful images. You want to make your newsletters very easy to read.

Keep Your Articles Short

Be careful not to ramble in your textual newsletter articles. Readers generally have short attention spans, especially when they are reading an advertising tool such as a newsletter. Keep your articles short and interesting as much as possible.

Use Lists

Whenever possible, break up the look of your newsletter by using a bulleted list. Lists make your newsletter easier to read and much more pleasing to look at. Plus, lists attract your readers' attention, so use them to include information that you want them to know.

Include Beneficial Information

If you can write newsletter articles that are informative and useful to your customers, they will appreciate it and be much more likely to read your future efforts. The most powerful articles are those that tell the reader how to make or save money or time.

Include a Calendar

Customers like to see calendars or similar items in newsletters. This makes the newsletter more useful and valuable. And since it makes it much more likely that your newsletters will be read and kept, be sure to try to incorporate them into your efforts as much as possible.

Throw in Some Offers

You should never send out a newsletter without including some kind of offer of deal to its recipients. You should always be striving for ways to make your newsletters beneficial to your customers, and special offers are the best way to do that.

Do not Get Crazy

Remember to make your newsletters as readable as possible. Do not get complicated in your design. Keep everything as simple as possible, and get your point across quickly and efficiently. Use an organized format, with headings and subheadings.

Spread them Out

As we said earlier, monthly or quarterly newsletters tend to be the most effective. Although you want to communicate with your readers regularly, be careful not to go overboard. Do not send out newsletter more than twice a month.
