Do you want to do your holiday postcard printing right? Well, you should know that there is a big difference between normal postcards and holiday postcards. So postcard printing can also be a bit different when you do it on normal days and throughout the holiday season. In this article I will teach you the do's and don'ts of holiday postcard printing to help you get your holiday color postcards right.

• Do print full color postcards - Holiday postcards are always in full color. This is to maximize the impact of the cover image unto people. You'll never get to communicate that holiday cheer and warm sentiments with black and white postcard printing. So it is always a must to print full color postcards during the holidays. It might get a bit more expensive but this is the only way to start postcard printing right.

• Do take high resolution photographs - You should also make sure that all your postcards have high resolution images on its cover. This is all of course determined by your main layout design. The image that you put for the cover must be in high resolution. You should not use images from the Internet when doing your color postcard covers. You must take the photographs yourself with a high resolution camera so that it looks nice, crisp and clear when printed. Otherwise, you might risk printing color postcards that are fuzzy and hard to understand.

• Do use high quality postcard paper - Also, always try to use high quality postcard paper during the holidays. A thick and coated color postcard not only will look very professional and shiny, but it is also quite durable and protected from the elements. Just ask your postcard printer of the options for high quality paper stocks for your postcard printing. Usually they'll have tougher, stronger but more expensive paper options ready for you if you can afford it. If you really want your postcards to arrive intact and still look great, you should spend for the highest quality postcard printing you can.

• Don't use fonts that are too fancy - On the negative side, you should not use fonts that are too fancy or artistic. While these may look nice, there is always a chance that some people will have a hard time understanding the color postcard message. If this happens people can get bored with reading the postcard since it is hard to understand. So prevent that from ever happening by using very simple fonts. As long as its clear, people will get the postcard message faster and better.

• Don't let the text and image colors clash - You should also try to prevent any kind of color clash with your image and text. Sometimes it is hard to add in your text since the image may have areas that make the text less visible. In these situations it is best to either darken or lighten the image or the text so that they can contrast with each other. Just play with different values until there is a distinct contrast between the two.

• Don't print postcards cheaply - Finally. You should not print your cards too cheaply. I know times might be hard and the postcard printing budget is tight, but postcards are good investments that are well worth the printing price. They can really get a good message through (be it personal or official) and they will pay off pretty well in the future most of the time. So spend on your postcard printing to make it greater and more effective.

Great! With these tips you should be able to do your holiday postcard printing. Good Luck!
