The space in your postcard printing is precious space. It is the area where your marketing message resides and it is important that you maximize it for the greatest advantage for your postcard printing and marketing scheme. If you are interested in knowing how to do this, I have here just the tips for you to help you use all the marketing space of color postcards efficiently. Try to see if you can try it out for your own marketing postcards.

An image with open space.

Sometimes, the trouble with marketing postcards is the cover image. The postcard image might be so unwieldy and full of detail that you might have difficulty in placing any kind of text without blocking something out. That is why it is important to choose an image with some open space. Don't get stuck with a troubled image. If it is hard to put text into the color postcard, then that means the image is bad. Try to re-shoot your cover image or use another one with some open space with little detail. This should give you an easy time in maximizing every space in the postcard printing without having to block other design elements.

Managing your text characteristics.

Now, if you are having trouble with your layout in terms of spaces, you might want try and change the size of your text to match precisely the space you want it for in the design. While you may think you are stuck with the standard "pt" or point sizes for fonts, you should know full well that you can actually customize this with your own value. So while you may have a text that has a 14pt size you can adjust it higher or lower to 13pt or 16pt by manually changing the font size. You don't have to get stuck with the standard suggested values of 12pt and 18pt in that situation. So don't forget that you can edit text sizes specifically when designing your color postcards in order to maximize space.

Simple and concise writing.

If your text is still to long to maximize space in your postcard design, then I suggest a rewrite of your content using simple and concise writing. Sometimes a slogan or text content can be still be whittled down to its base message to make it fit the marketing color postcard. Hiring a professional writer should actually help in this endeavor if you have time to consult one.

Take away unnecessary design details.

Finally, some designers actually get too overboard with there design details leading to a cluttered and wasteful marketing postcard cover. You have to remember that there are just a few things that a marketing postcard can have without. Moreover, it is actually better to have a nice and clean design than a complex, meaningful yet very unwieldy one. So when your postcard printing design seems to cluttered with stuff, it is best to take away those unnecessary design details. That border, shadow, French curve or other design detail might have to go, to make things look cleaner and clearer for the readers.

So that is how you clean up your postcard printing to maximize space for marketing. Just remember these tips and your marketing color postcards should be ready for deployment.
