Embracing Your Brand

Your brand is what defines you.

If you want your brand name to grow, if you want it to become a firm part of the marketplace, you need to completely embrace it.

Many companies do what they probably think is embracing their brand. They get their marketing material made and they put that brand on everything that they can. This isn't what embracing your brand is really about.

Almost every company is going to have their brand name on their marketing material. People are going to assume that you are doing the same, and they won't be as inclined to look for it.

To spread your brand you need to ensure that everything your company does is linked with that brand name. You need to get custom printing done to have letterheads on everything you send out. If someone gets something from anyone in your company you should be sure they're going to see your brand name in a prominent position.

Have you ever considered having t-shirts made with your logo on the front? Each time you go to a tradeshow you're going to be in a prime position to hand free items out, and that's when you need to start spreading your brand.

Even if you aren't always giving those shirts away, or giving those pens or staplers away, just having them with you is a great means of letting people know about your company.

Wear the shirts yourself, or give them to friends, family, or your other employees to wear. Be sure that every time you take out a pen you have your brand name on it. When you pay for a meal use your own pen to fill out the receipt, and then leave the pen for the waitress. Odds are good she'll hand that pen to another customer down the line to sign their receipt, which means each time she does it people are going to see your brand name.

These aren't massive marketing pushes. The custom printing costs are going to be low. Most of this deals less with something major and more with integrating your brand into everyday life activities, which is the best way to get it well known. Another cost-effective type of marketing material that you can try is calendar printing.

Don't make a big show out of show casing your brand name. Places like Disney or Microsoft don't need to shove their brand name in people's faces. All they have to do is have their brand there, and people accept it, because the brand has become a part of everyday life. It has become completely integrated into society, and that's what you need to do with your brand.

It can be a long and difficult journey to firmly and effectively establish a brand name. But if you're willing to go the extra mile, you'll find your brand become a household name.
