While the usual laws of poster printing are fine, sometimes it does pay
to "defy" some of it to get more original and eye catching print posters.
Do not worry, there is little risk in changing your traditional poster
printing and customizing some aspects of it. As long as you know what
you are doing, you can print fantastic color posters that really
deliver their message effectively. For your convenience, here are a few
tips on how to defy the traditional laws of poster printing to make it
more interesting. Who says posters are just rectangles? Yes! Posters can be more that mere rectangles if you want to. Most poster printers offer traditional dimensions in poster printing, but you must know that you can actually change those values to anything you want. You can even print square, circular or triangular color posters if your design concept really demands it. It is even possible to print color posters that are circles, oblongs or ellipses. Just ask your poster printer about the customization options for the dimensions and you should be able to specify anything that meets your needs. "Upsizing" or "Downsizing" posters You should also know that you can actually defy the law about the standard sizes of posters. It is possible to "upsize" your posters to epic sizes to get more people to look at them. On the flip side, you can also print smaller than usual posters if you want to deploy them to smaller but wider areas to get more promotional coverage. That is why you should try not to be limited by the standard size options in most poster printing sites. There are custom options that should be able to give you what you need. More than just paper posters Poster printing can also go beyond usual paper posters. Many poster printing firms today offer posters that are made from a great many different materials. From plastic poster printing to getting those glossy and water resistant finishes on the posters, there are many custom options that can improve the looks and durability of your posters. You can be free from just using regular paper in poster printing. Just study your options and see what is available in your poster printing firm. Using more than traditional inks You can also defy the usual laws of poster printing by printing more than the usual inks. Four color printing of course is the usual mode these days to produce high quality full color posters. However, beyond this there are special options in printing such as using metallic inks, or using specially coated inks that are more resistant to water and other substances. These inks add special properties to your color posters that imbue them with many interesting features. Just ask your poster printer if they have other special inks available and see what your options are. So those are the different traditional laws that you can defy in poster printing to get a more original and interesting reaction to your color posters. By changing the shape, size, material and inks of your posters, you can really make a difference and make your color posters stand out.
