When creating your flyer printing project, it's not only the design and content that you have to be concerned about; you also have to consider the effect that your color choices would make in the overall appearance of your flyers. Choosing the most appropriate color shade will have a considerable influence on how your prospective readers feel about your flyer printing project.

Here are some of the flyer printing process and system you should know to help you better gauge the right color types that you would need to make your flyer printing project generate a positive reaction to your business.

Color Printing

When you decide to use full color in your flyer printing project, you have to consider the areas where you apply your hues. The more you use color, the more you add to your overall flyer printing costs. Most flyer printing designers suggest that you use one side of your flyer printing project for your full color design, and the other side you can use to print in black and white.

Moreover, the flyer printing paper stock you choose can also have a significant effect on the reproduction of your color images. Ask your flyer printer to help you choose the most suitable flyer printing paper for best results.

RGB and CMYK

RGB and CMYK are color systems of space that flyer printers use to reproduce the colors you have in your flyer printing project. What colors you see in your computer monitor applies RGB. RGB stands for red, green, and blue, which are the primary colors of light that allows for the display of color images.

On the other hand, CMYK (Cyan- blue, Magenta- red, Yellow, and Black) are the color ink process used by flyer printing companies to produce your color image in your flyer printing pieces.

What you see however, on your computer screen will not be the same color shade when your flyer printer reproduces your print materials, especially if they're using an offset printing press. In most cases there won't be significant differences, nevertheless, not all the RGB you see in your monitor can be reproduced on CMYK.

This is why most flyer printing companies suggest that you create your flyer printing document in CMYK instead of RGB, since CMYK is the accepted format for a print ready file of your flyers. Converting an RGB image to CMYK creates problems, one of which is that you don't have the assurance that your color would still be the same shade after your flyer printing pieces have been reproduced.

Spot Color

This is used most often with flyer printing jobs that require only one or two colors to be reproduced. It usually applies the Pantone PMS system to match the colors you choose for your flyer printing project.

Full Color Offset Printing

When you need to have high quality full color commercial printing, flyer printing companies utilize offset presses that apply the color system of CMYK. Your flyer printing company utilizes this color system to generate the vibrant and brilliant colors that make up your illustrations and images. As there is a big difference in the colors you'll see from your computer monitor and what the offset presses can reproduce, most flyer printing companies recommend that you submit a print ready file in CMYK so that you'll be guaranteed of a flyer printing job that is true to what you have imagined.
