As the decision has been made to go to the Tropical North Queensland, next the decision will have to made about which beautiful area to stay in during your vacation time. This area is close by the Great Barrier Reef, toward the more southern part of the reef, and driving to the Brisbane airport is less than four hours. If you fly there from Brisbane it will only be about a 45 minute flight down to Hervey Bay.

This place has a ton of history, with all the beaches and natural spaces untouched by man, along with long pathways of bike and wheelchair paths with public restrooms situated conveniently. There are also playgrounds, picnic and barbeque areas, beach equipment rental facilities and places for showering. This will give you an opportunity to choose adventure on the water or kick back and do nothing.

Whale watching usually takes place from July to October, as this is the time that is best to see the whales and fishing in Hervey Bay is a favorite year round activity. There are also many opportunities to tour the reef on a tour boat, take a day trip to Lady Elliot or Fraser Island or just sail away in a catamaran. Some even choose a scenic flight over Fraser Island for a bird's eye view of the bay.

You will have a great time at the entertainment place that has a rock climbing wall, go karts, a water slide, and miniature golf, all great times for those with kids along on the trip. The local area also includes the Pioneer Village, art galleries and museums. A fantastic place to stay with many varied types of accommodations to satisfy all the travelers, Hervey Bay is one of the best in the Tropical North area.
