Spring is finally coming. But with spring comes spring fever. With spring fever comes the need to get away, have a vacation, and enjoy the beautiful weather. Now that we have that established, the next thing to ponder on is where to go and what to do. There are so many options that it can be debilitating to some. But I am here to make your life that much easier. Here are the top five spots for a weekend getaway.

1. Austin, Texas. This is a great place for all of you music lovers. Austin is known as the "live music capital of the world". Not only does Austin have over 200 different venues to listen to live music, there are also loads of museums, art galleries, and bats. Yes, bats. You can watch over 1.5 million bats take off in search of food—every night. Austin, Texas is great year-round, but it is exceptional in the spring. With temperatures near the perfect 80 degrees, an outside adventure might just be right up your alley.

2. Charleston, South Carolina. Looking for something a little slower in pace for your weekend getaway? Charleston is the perfect place for you if you want to experience that southern charm without the hustle and bustle of large city life. Charleston is full of historic landmarks, beautiful homes, quaint inns, unbelievable restaurants, upscale shopping centers, golf courses, and of course, my personal favorite, the beach. Spring is the perfect time to experience Charleston because it is warm, but not warm enough to be uncomfortable. If true relaxation is what you are looking for during your weekend getaway, Charleston might just be the place.

3. Death Valley National Park. Didn't expect to see this on the list, did you? Many people don't realize all that Death Valley has to offer. With a visit to Death Valley you can experience ghost towns, enormous sand dunes, barren salt pans, and incredible open spaces. Again, spring is the perfect time to visit because as soon as summer hits, the temperature gets upwards of 120°F. Also, in the winter, it drops below freezing. So basically, if you don't want to find out the real reason they call it Death Valley, go in the springtime. Two of the best activities to participate in are a) sand dune surfing and b) hiking to the lowest point in North America (300 feet below sea level). If you are up for a daring adventure, Death Valley is the weekend vacation spot for you.

4. Greer, Arizona. Arizona offers many types of landscape and scenery. To be honest, Arizona almost has it all. Greer is a quaint little mountain town getaway. It is perfect for those who want a little outdoor adventure, but still want their solitude. When you go, make sure you stay at a bed & breakfast Arizona. You will get all the service you love from hotels, but the peace and quiet you expect from small towns—best of both worlds. As with this entire list so far, spring is one of the best times to visit Greer. The weather is just about perfect, especially in the mountains.

5. New Orleans, Louisiana. This is one of my personal favorites. There is so much to do and see. New Orleans offers everything you could want in a weekend getaway. If you want something more quiet, just walk down some of the shoot off streets. They are lined with bistros, art shops, and small gift shops. If you are there to party, Bourbon Street is probably your best bet. If you want to see some historical sites, go to the French Quarter. It is jam-packed with history and beautiful architecture. Also, nearby is the Andrew Jackson square. It is remarkably beautiful and has a great view of the Mississippi river. No matter what else you do, you must try a beignet. They are the most incredible food you'll ever eat. They sell them all over New Orleans. You can also go on many tours: Haunted Cemetery, Historical Tour, Vampire Tour, Hurricane Katrina, and many others. There is definitely something for everyone in New Orleans, Louisiana.

With so many choices for weekend getaways, I hope I narrowed it down a little bit for you. Just put these places into consideration and have a great time.
