The credit crunch has affected everyone and the number of people going on holiday is set to decline next year a lot more than this year. By taking the right precautions you can ensure you go abroad next year. Watch out for over spending and shop around for your deals; here are 20 tips to help you get on that plane or boat next summer. Get your jabs at home - some commercial clinics will charge you up to £70 for your jabs which some clinics will give for free. Get to the airport cheaper - it can cost almost anything up to £100 to get to the airport so you should look at public transport to get you to the airport, you could also ask a friend or relative. Do not pay over the odds for airport parking - by booking your parking online you could save over £150, try some comparison sites. Get your insurance at once - if you travel abroad more than once a year, paying for your insurance annually and for the entire family will save you money. Park and stay - it can sometimes work out cheaper to park and stay at airport hotels than actually parking at an airport alone. Obtain an EHIC card - this is a medical card which can be used in the EU and will reduce any medical bills, it does not act a replacement for travel insurance but it will help reduce excess costs. Take a packed lunch - this is a more obvious trick to save money, some airlines charge as much as £4 for a sandwich and £2.50 for a bottle of water so buy your refreshments at the latest possible point in the airport. Follow these tips to save money on your holidays, use comparison sites to find cheap all inclusive holidays or package holidays to make the most out of your budget.
