The coast of Australia is filled with some of the most delightful little nooks that one can imagine. While the Sunshine Coast is filled with elaborate hotels and incredible beaches that you can find on the web it is always a little more difficult for those new to the region to find those little out of the way places that can provide such enjoyment for a vacationing family.

One of the most outrageous places that exist as one of these little coastal hideaways is known as Pumicestone Passage or Pumicestone Channel. This wonderful vacation spot is located between the mainland of Queensland and Bribie Island and is a place for some definite water fun. The waters are calm and incredibly blue and whether you just want to do some underwater and beach investigation or prefer sailing and scuba, this location is a place with nothing and everything rolled into one.

Sure there is not much going on in this region, no big events, however somehow it gives so much of itself in water fun and beauty that it really doesn't need for much else. You will find that occasionally some foam will occur at the shoreline, and some are a bit skeptical about this, however it is really just something that occurs as a result of the sand crabs digging in the shore and the foam is the sandy build-up at the coastline and nothing more.

This incredible habitat is not just an amazing human experience, but this channel provides refuge to many species of dolphins and turtles who call this area home. Birds love this area as well and as many as 350 different species of them can be seen around this part of the Sunshine Coast.

If you choose this location known as Pumicestone Channel or Pumicestone Passage for your next holiday you will be amazed at the splendor available to you. And this is only one of the fabulous areas to discover along the beautiful region of the Sunshine Coast.
