Regarded as one of the most exciting cities in the world, London is an amazing place to visit.

Brimming with cultural diversity, historical significance and places of interest, it is a great destination to head to at any time of year. However, due to its huge array of outdoor activities, it can be argued that the summer time offers the visitor that little something extra.

Indeed, there are not many people who will turn down the opportunity of sitting back in the sunshine, sipping a cold drink and soaking up the ambient atmosphere whilst deciding which of the many open-air festivals, concerts and performances to take in.

Due to its electric influence on the entertainment scene, London is renowned for putting on some of the best events in the world and its musical offerings are no different. In fact, every year the city comes alive with the sound of music, as a host of acts take to the stage.

If frolicking in the streets is more your cup of tea, then make sure you head along to the Notting Hill Carnival. Cited as the biggest street party in London, it is a veritable melting pot of parades, live performances and parties. With a children's day included in the line-up it is another brilliant event to take the kids to.

Al fresco dining is also a popular pastime for many Londoners, so why not join the crowd and see for yourself what gastronomic treats you can find? With its range of cafés and restaurants, you are sure to discover something that tickles your taste buds. Aurora, Candy Cakes and The Stag are three good recommendations and represent the diversity of cuisine on offer.
