It is true that Deer Valley is known for its skiing, but it is also a fun place to visit during the summer. You can enjoy the same rugged mountains that offer such pleasure in the deep powder during the summer months too. Summer activities are available for people of all ages and fitness levels. Beginning in June, Deer Valley visitors can enjoy lift-served mountain biking. That's right, let the lift do the hard work getting you to the top of the mountain and then enjoy the thrill of riding your bike to the bottom. There are two chairlifts available offering over 50 miles of downhill fun. Similar services are offered at the Canyons and at Park City Mountain Resort. If you want to venture away from the Deer Valley resort itself, there are nearly 200 miles of biking trails in and around Park City. This includes a paved biking path that is great for families. There are plenty of local shops that can equip you with bikes and helmets if you don't have your own. For those who just want to enjoy the scenery, you can take advantage of the same Deer Valley chairlifts for a scenic ride to the top of the mountain. Once there you can leisurely hike down or let the chairlift get you to the bottom. Of course, for those who want a workout, you can just start from the base and get to the top the old-fashioned way! If you are visiting during a music festival; you can enjoy great music, food, and atmosphere in the outdoor amphitheater. In addition to hiking and biking, the Park City area offers other recreation in the form of fishing, horseback riding, and hay rides. Several local outfits offer horse-drawn hay rides around Park City. This is a great family activity for a summer evening. There are also several nice golf courses where you can enjoy nice weather and the chance to play golf at 6,000 feet. One last attraction for the skateboarder is the large skate park located in the City Park. This is Utah's largest outdoor cement facility and is open all summer. So whether you are inclined to bike, hike, ride, golf, or board; this is the place. If you just want to relax; head outside with a nice drink and a good book. The weather in this mountain town is absolutely beautiful during the summer. Summer vacation memories are made here! Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
