If you mention the word Egypt to anyone, the chances are they will immediately think of the Pyramids and the Sphinx. While it is certainly true that Egypt is best known for these, it has plenty more to offer as well.
Egypt multi centre holidays are also becoming more popular as more people want to discover all the other delights this country has to offer. By visiting more than one location on the same holiday you are able to create a unique break that will always live on in your memory. Within Egypt you might chose to combine any number of Egypt's cultural highlights, from Cairo and the Pyramids, to the temples of Karnak and the colourful tombs of Luxor.
Alternatively, go one step further and combine Egypt with Libya or Jordan. In Libya, one of the most stunning areas worth visiting is Leptis Magna, which is guaranteed to make you feel as if you have been transported back into ancient times with its ruins and stunning architecture from centuries gone by. While it is true that the Pyramids of Giza will take your breath away, the detail and majestic surroundings of Leptis Magna will surely amaze you just as much.
But Libya isn't the only destination which may easily be combined with Egypt. Nor is it the only place that offers the chance to step back in time, as the ancient city of Petra in Jordan testifies. The ruins on this site give visitors a greater understanding of the breadth and depth of the history that is an integral part of Egypt as a whole. Much like Leptis Magna, Petra went undiscovered for quite some time before being found by relatively modern civilisation in the early 1800s. It is perhaps ironic that this ancient city has now become a popular destination for modern holidaymakers to view.
Not everyone suits two weeks relaxing on a beach, and while it is easy to head straight for the best known landmarks in a particular country you run the risk of missing out on a lot of lesser known but just as awe inspiring sights that are equally worth getting your camera out for.
The best in Egypt holidays will always include the Pyramids and the Sphinx, but there are many other ancient sights to see as well as these that will lead you towards a better understanding of the great history that this region of the world enjoys. Multi centre holidays certainly do offer you the experience of a lifetime.
