The current economic climate has led to more people looking to towns in the UK for their holidays, as short city breaks can prove to be an excellent way to experience the sights and culture of modern Britain. Renting an apartment allows for a home away from home experience that allows you to keep the luxuries of an accommodation that a hotel or hostel may not offer.
Accommodation such as this is booming in London, and as England's largest city it is appealing to a lot of British visitors at the moment. Its diverse and cosmopolitan offerings means the city has something to appeal to everyone. From the classic tourist attractions such as the Houses of Parliament and London Eye that can be experienced at any time of day to night time attractions such as the city's ghost tours and traditional bars, London has it all.
Of course, not everyone wants to go sightseeing on their travels and they may be visiting for a specific reason. London's music scene is one of the liveliest in Britain; from the large scale auditoriums, such as the O2 Arena or the Astoria, to the smaller venues with up and coming artists, music lovers are sure to find something to their taste on any given night.
London also offers visitors the finest restaurants in England, with many prestigious curry houses to be found around Brick Lane. Although well known, these are often reasonably priced and many offer a bring-your-own-bottle policy that can help reduce costs further.
Brick Lane is a bustling area and as well as Indian restaurants it also offers a host of vintage stores that are sure to please any shopper. London has stuck with the tradition of market stalls, and holidaymakers can find some great, unique items there while the more dedicated shopaholics can head to the Westfield Shopping Centre near Shepherd's Bush for their fix of the latest designer offerings.
Trips to the capital are great whatever the month and flights to London operate all year round from almost every domestic airport. While some tourists prefer the warmer months so they can have a boat trip down the Thames or a picnic in Hyde Park, the winter months offer other opportunities such as the iconic Christmas markets to entice year round visits.
With myriad opportunities for indoor entertainment a trip to London isn't dependent on the weather either - which can only be a blessing when English weather patterns are taken into account. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
