You see they don't allow cars on Fire Island for personal use. The best part is you don't need cars. Everything is within walking distance -- talk about a place being quaint, functional and easy to get around all at the same time. Even if you drive your car to the parking lot for the short ferry ride to Fire Island, it is only about an hour from New York City as is the train. Think about it. This is a win, win situation. You can save money on gas and avoid getting stressed out by spending your precious vacation time on the road, and enjoy your leisure time relaxing not getting upset at the pump by sticker shock when you see what it is costing you to fill up your tank. Wouldn't you rather spend that money having a nice dinner at a fine restaurant on Fire Island? Wouldn't you rather spend that outrageous gas money having fun? Sometimes I wonder why we spend so much of our time doing what we don't want to do and what doesn't make us happy. I want to be happy this summer, how about you? I want your family and you to enjoy your vacation, not worry about how much money you are spending or how much you have to save and scrimp on other things to afford to put gas in your car. I see my wife nodding to me in agreement. The best part about vacationing at Fire Island this summer of course is not just what you save on gas, it's the fun you are going to have enjoying the sandy beaches and the sun and the beautiful ocean. It's easier to have fun when you are relaxed. It's easier to relax when you don't think you are being taken advantage of by some uncaring giant oil company. The best way I can think of to help you have fun on your summer vacation is to make sure you don't spend it stewing about how much money you are spending on gas and getting all tensed up so that you can't relax.
