World globalization has made the world seem much smaller, and because of this many people are considering buying a second home in the sun, a home that is away from home in an idyllic foreign setting. A country that is becoming very popular in the second home market is Montenegro. Once a favorite among the great Hollywood stars like Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, the country sports 117 beaches, ski resorts and sunshine form most of the year and has become an appealing location for those looking to buy property in Montenegro. This country is located near the Adriatic Sea. It can be easily reached from most European countries, only an hour from Rome or Budapest and an hour and a half from Zurich. Montenegro has everything you could ever wish for, virgin beaches, mountain walks, clear rivers and lakes, this is truly the place you want to live in and that is why property for sale in Montenegro is on the rise. Obviously this country has a lot to offer the tourist, but is it worth the investor's attention? Statistics show that 50% of Britons are either thinking about or have bought a house in a foreign country, and investors have their keen eye set on Montenegro. Studies show that in the last two years property in this country has increased by as much as 30% or more, so the question you need to be asking yourself is: Does a 30% return on my investment in a two year period merit attention? Many investors seem to think so, and this causes people to want to buy property in Montenegro. We have then established that buying property for sale in Montenegro, whether it's just for your pleasure or for investment reasons can be a sound decision for several reasons: • Montenegro has been a well known haven for the rich and famous since the 1950s • The country is easily accessible from just about any European country. Flights are at most a couple of hours away and leave frequently from most major airports • Montenegro is an independent country, recently gaining its independence from Serbia • Property for sale in Montenegro is on the rise, thereby making it a good investment. Reasons not to buy property in Montenegro are few and somehow unconvincing. Some investors are still somewhat wary of investing in this small country with undeveloped infrastructure and a limited capacity in dealing with tourists especially because of its size. Europeans have to fly into nearby Croatia and then drive or be driven to Montenegro because there are no direct flights to this country. Still the positive aspects are more convincing then the negative ones. Property prices are 30% lower than in nearby Croatia and that stands for something from the investor's point of view. This small country now has the issue of dealing with bad infrastructure and terrible corruption, but apart from this it finds itself among the great European tourist destinations. Even with all of the disadvantages, Montenegro seems to have more benefits and many people that are seriously considering the thought of investing in a foreign country have their eye set on property for sale in Montenegro because of its beauty, its culture and its tropics.
