Find Your Inner Artist in Puerto Vallarta

Experienced visitors with a taste for the fine arts seek out luxurious vacation rentals in Puerto Vallarta when they come to town, a place they can call home when they dive into the local arts scene. Its not just that the best villas feature art collections of their own (although they do). Rather, the comfortable elegance of a luxury villa provides an ideal base camp from which to launch arting expeditions.

To some visitors, however, enjoying the arts in Puerto Vallarta means more than taking in the work of other artists they want to get their hands and brushes dirty and create a masterpiece of their own. These individuals also find that vacation rentals in Puerto Vallarta are a perfect jumping off point after all, its pretty easy to find inspiration in a glorious sunset over Banderas Bay..

Whatever your skill level or medium, youll find no end of subjects to set down on canvas (or in clay, if thats what floats your boat). So pack up your sketch pad and your paints; hop in a taxi; and find a great spot to let your creative juices flow.

  • A couple of local restaurants, El Set on the Barra de Navidad highway at Conchas Chinas and Le Kliff at Milan 265 in town, offer amazing views from high on the cliffs above the bay. You might not be comfortable setting up your studio at a table, but you can certainly rough out a sketch or two and come away with some great images. (Both restaurants get mixed reviews for the dining experience.)

  • Eventually, it seems, everyone takes a stroll along the Malecn, and there is no end to the interesting subjects awaiting your artistic touch from this lively perspective. You can observe the goings on water sports on Banderas Bay, people creating sculptures in the sand, colorful street vendors and performers or you can lose yourself in the sound of the water playing along the shore.

  • Its a short trip from your Puerto Vallarta vacation villa rental to Isla Rio Cuale, where you can surround yourself with the dense green jungle, the iguanas and the colorful market. Let your tastes and your mood determine whether you find a quiet space to work or set up where the action is.

Budding artists, new to this kind of creative experience, can find art supplies (oils and pastels, brushes and pencils, sketch pads and palettes) at a couple of local shops: Mexico Magico at Juarez 534 and Pro-Arte at 1197-A.
