Barclays Park is based on the East coast of Barbados and is a 50 acre park that was given as a gift to the Barbadian Government from who would you guess other than Barclays Bank! This was to commemorate the 1966 year of Barbados's independence. Barclays Park is a popular Barbados beauty spot for picnics as it's set right next to the breathtaking Cattlewash beach. This is a fantastic place to have lunch seated on the slopes of Barclays Park whilst watching the rough Atlantic tide crash upon the beach. For this reason bathing is not recommended in this area. During the Crop Over Festival, Barclays Park becomes the venue for the Party Monarch calypso competition. Close to Barclays Park is Chalky Mount Village that has lots of lovely pottery and handicraft shops, a perfect place to pick up a few gifts for family and friends! Barclays Park is just a 10-15 minute drive from Crossbow Villa, take a prepared picnic lunch with you on a day trip! 50 acres of beautiful park grounds to picnic on overlooking Cattlewash beach. Has some wonderful coastal walks. Excellent for gift shopping in the nearby Chalky Mount. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
