Costa Blanca is very famous for its attractiveness among tourists from around the world. This coast was originally a collection of many small fishing villages. Later on the boom in tourism happened, yet the fishing village style essence remains to an extent. Some of the villages have even restricted development so as to retain the charm. Other villages are lined with Costa Blanca apartments and villas. It may not be an ideal situation for everyone who lives there yet this fact can be neglected keeping in mind that local people earn from the tourist trade. There are many interesting coves and attractive sandy beaches are to be found in this area. Mountainous cliffs are found on the north side along with pebbled and fine sandy beaches as well as lush and green in other parts. The southern side is diverse with flat fine sandy beaches. You will find it much drier on the south side, with palm trees and salt lakes. The spectrum of Costa Blanca sits comfortably between cosmopolitan resorts (like Benidorm) and rural villages. The climate in the north is somewhat like California, Southern Australia and South Africa, like 25C in August and 12C in January and approximately 320 sunny days annually. To the north, it is drier and warmer in both winter and in summer; it is humid and hot to the south. The World Health Organization said that the climate of this place is ideal for patients of arthritis and the positive results are obtainable even with a short stay here. The sunshine in winter and summer is almost equal. You will find a variety of beaches there like pebbled beaches, sandy beaches as well as coves. Many of these meet the standards of Blue Flag. Calpe's Levante is a very famous 2km and 40 m wide beach. Then comes Penon de Ifach which is lined with beach bars and restaurants. Another beach worth mentioning and worth seeing is Arenal-Bol.
