There are few places in the world that hold the same kind of vibrant appeal as New York. An American city packed full of a multitude of cultural offerings, New York City is the kind of place that artists of all ilk find fascinating and endlessly inspiring. From the astounding sky scraper-laden skyline to the surprisingly large number of parks, there's always something to feast your eye on in this infamous American city, so it's no wonder so many people choose to visit.
It isn't only the visitors who are keen on New York, it's one of America's most populous cities as people from miles around gravitate towards its creative vibe. The sheer number of different people and cultures that call New York home ensure that there's something to suit everyone's tastes - and that applies to art and theatre as much as it does food and drink. In New York it's easy to find anything from a bite to eat on the go - a hot dog for example - to a five star meal. It's just as easy to peruse the fine art in the top galleries as it is to stumble across some lo-fi exhibitions or collaborations. With more than 500 art galleries, including the world renowned Carnegie Hall and illustrious Metropolitan Museum of Art, there's sure to be something for everyone. Music is another important component of the buzz that wraps the streets of New York. The city offers everything from the big scale productions of Broadway on 42nd street to hundreds of small bars and venues where jazz, rock and contemporary scenes can be found. Fans of classical music and orchestras are also fantastically catered to in a city with hundreds of facets. New York is also home to a plethora of sights perfect for snapping a picture of. From the Empire State Building to Ellis Island and Central Park, there are plenty of places that visitors to the city won't want to miss on their trip. Shoppers may be hunting for something a little more substantial than photos to take home with them, luckily the excellent shopping strips along Fifth and Madison Avenue will more than satisfy their needs. The five boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Queen and Staten Island, ensure that travellers to the city can easily explore five different experiences when they visit, meaning that flights to New York are sure to end in drastically different holidays depending on the taste of the flier!
