The use of the correct type of lures is also a part of any good bass fishing tips that you can get. Grubs are ideal on the later part of the day, while crankbaits are better suited for the morning. Do some necessary adjustments if you are simply not getting any hits on the line. Make use of lighter lures when it is bright outside and darker ones when you are fishing in darker waters; if don't then quite obviously the lures will simply look unnatural and the fish are likely to stay away. If you are not able to find anyone that can go out in person with you to show you their smallmouth bass fishing technique or you simply want a little more help on top of that, then there are a lot of places you can turn to for help. You can see different kinds of smallmouth bass fishing techniques on television through the shows that highlight different fishing professionals. Of course you will see all kinds of different smallmouth bass fishing techniques so you are simply going to have to try them all out to see which ones work for you and which ones do not. Shiner minnows are my favorite minnow to use, I prefer the smaller variety about 1 1/2" in length. Many crappie anglers would argue that bigger is better, but the truth is I like to catch fish and I am not interested in only fishing for the large slabs. If you are one of the anglers who only fish for slab crappie then bigger is probably better, but I prefer to catch a lot of fish. Now the reason I like the shiners whether using small or large minnows, is they reflect light like small mirror in the water. Crappies are easily attracted to changes in light patterns,so the shiner minnow is fish attractor and a live crappie bait food source at the same time.
