The Hunt for the Cup |

From it's humble beginnings as a challenge cup the Stanley Cup has been the most coveted trophy in hockey. As that time of year comes to pass, I ponder the meaning of the cup. Unlike the trophies won in other North American Sports the Stanley cup is not a trophy that is replicated every year. The cup has been handed from team to team since 1892.
Though originally it only
held the teams name's and the year they won it now holds the teams
name and the names of the players, coaches and management. I can only
imagine the honor one must feel to have their name upon what I see as
a trophy steeped in tradition and prestige.
