Anime Swords - Cool Collector's Items Inspired By Animation Movies From Japan

Anime is a unique type of animated movies and TV shows originally popularized in Japan. Alongside its closely-related artistic medium, Manga (Japanese comic books), it is known for its fantastic characters with exaggerated physical features and poetic dialog.

Over the last few years, Anime and Manga both have found a large bunch of fans internationally, and the popularity of replicas such as weapons has grown tremendously.

History of Anime and Manga

The first Anime mini film was made in 1917, but the art form was unable to garner a larger acceptance until the sixties and 1970's. In that period, as Manga series found acceptance, Anime serials were often spun off in an effort to garner a wider audience.

Osamu Tezuka is the most well-known makers from that formative period of Manga's success. Nowadays, Hayao Miyazaki has gained recognition throughout the world from internationally-successful feature-length pieces such as "Princess Mononoke".

Series such as Bleach, Naruto and Dragonball Z have gone on to become some of the most popular series created in this "modern era". These serials have driven Anime to gain a gigantic following in Japan and worldwide.

Bleach Swords

Replicas of Anime Swords have become sought-after collectors pieces, though perhaps none so sought-after as those from "Bleach."

This immensely well-received fantasy series features numerous sword-carrying agents, including lead characters Ichigo and Rukia Kuchiki.

As the serial has increased in viewership, replica swords for these characters and others have been manufactured to meet an ever-increasing demand.

Two of the most well-liked swords -- Ichigo's "Zangetsu" and Hitsugaya's sword -- have inspired collectible replicas and have become very popular. The Zangetsu is a "Zanpakuto", a kind of sword toted by many of the series' characters.

Replicas of Other Anime Swords

Several additional Anime serials feature weapons in the forefront and most are recreated as collector's items. Dragonball Z's Trunks Sword is one such example as are Naruto's Zabuza, and Rurouni Kenshin's reverse blade Sakabato.
