Most of the time we go about our lives thinking we have the one and only true take on reality. However, our personal reality is not the world, but rather how we view the world. Our experiences are not only how we interact with the world, but also how we interpret those experiences.

There are limitless examples of how two people can interpret the same experiences in a completely different manner. We notice different things, place emphasis on different parts of our experience, and come to different conclusions.

This opens up to us some wonderful possibilities to improve how we see and experience our lives. Learn to play with it in the right way, and you can shift from unhappy to happy, from unsuccessful to successful, and from unlucky to lucky.

Affirmations can help you look for evidence of the positive in your experiences. The more you find this evidence, the more positive occurrences will be attracted to you and the better and more confident you will feel. The more you learn to see the positive, the more optimistic your attitude becomes, and in turn the more optimistic you become the more you attract good luck and success.

Thinking positively is not just a matter of interpreting things as sunny. It generates its own energy to attract positive occurrences into the reality around us.

It is easy to see this when we consider the effects of negative and pessimistic thinking. A pessimist will cease to try because they do not believe in successful outcomes and because depression will often interfere with a person doing something even when success is guaranteed.

Affirmations can help us shift our interpretation of experiences and in this way helps us to alter our personal reality so that it is focused on more positive aspects, the parts that make us feel better, and the opportunities that will make us successful.
