Education
has become super-flexible and incredibly convenient today with the advent of
distance education. The personal computer and the internet have propelled the
growth of this mode learning. Nowadays, most of the educational institutes are
offering distance learning courses to cater to the students who have job, family, age, physical illness or
other constraints and cannot make it to the campus due to those. There are
literally a multitude of courses available for the students of every
discipline. Learners from every part of the world have access to their dream
education through distance learning. Another form of it can be found in
some institutes where students sit in a land-based classroom and receive
lecture from a teacher sitting far away in another classroom through
videoconference. Classes are mainly offered in weekends. Both full-time and part-time modes are available to students to choose from in concurrence with their schedules and commitments. It is available at every level from school to university but it's most popular in the university level. Distance learning is not just correspondence education; in fact, it utilizes the very latest web technologies so that anyone in the world can take advantage of it. Taking advantage of it is a good way to ease into the routine of class work and projects, and it even lowers the tension of feeling the need to fit in with other students from varied backgrounds, ethnicities and age groups. Financing often becomes a problem for some students but these days, loans and grants are available to them as a financial aid. People often have the view that obtaining a degree through this mode of learning is not as legitimate or rewarding as a traditional one, but that's not true. It takes the same kind of effort and time as its traditional counterparts and the degree achieved through it is also as legitimate and rewarding as the traditional ones.
Distance
learning courses teach students to be self-directed and offer the
opportunity to persist their studies for all their lives. The courses utilize
methods like correspondence, telecommunication, videoconference, and podcasts
etc. Even the most modern disciplines are being taught these days in this
particular mode of study. The variety is really huge. The teaching techniques
are constantly being evaluated and modified. It offers high level of convenience
in the sense that it lets you study at your very home when you are in you most prolific
self, this is particularly applicable to the physically challenged. It is very
flexible in the sense that it provides you the opportunity to learn at a pace
you are comfortable with. You don't have to keep up with the scheduled timings
of the class and projects/assignments to complete. It saves time in the sense
that you don't have to commute to the campus to attend classes and you have the
liberty to complete your studies at a time span you want to. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
