For smaller schools, the cost of having a
yearbook printed has become astronomical. Schools who are looking for
smaller quantities can pay $40 or more per yearbook. Many students (or
their parents) aren't willing to pay that kind of money for a yearbook.
However, you now have another option for producing a yearbook. Here it
is... More and more schools are choosing to use students to print and bind their yearbooks. Using desktop computers, high speed copiers, a Unibind system and a group of students, a school can now produce their own Yearbooks for less than half the cost charged by traditional yearbook binding companies. Plus, the students gain a new level of ownership in the yearbook production process. Students, can be responsible for the yearbook production process from start to finish. Students take the pictures, do the layout, print the pages and do the binding using a Unibind Binding Machine. The yearbook is truly theirs. Here is how the binding part of the process works. The first step in the binding process is to decide on the type and look of the cover that you want. Unibind hard cover cases are available in a number of different colors and can be imprinted with foil in small or large quantities. Many schools have a student's design foil printed on the front cover of the yearbook. Alternatively, some schools save a little bit of money by choosing a Unibind Cover with a window in the front. Or for larger schools with more than 500 yearbooks you can design your own four color process printed cover (just make sure to get your artwork in really early to ensure enough time for production). After you have your Unibind cover the binding process couldn't be easier. Simply take the pages that the students have designed and printed and place them inside the cover. Set the Unibind Cover on your Unibind Machine and less than 1 minute later you will have your finished yearbook. Let it cool and it is done. As you can see, binding your own yearbooks is really simple and the prospect of cutting your production costs by 50-70% is definitely appealing. The Unibind machine to bind the book is available for less than $500 and the cost of the machine can easily be recouped in the first year by even the smallest school. Plus, the ownership that the students take in the process is priceless. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
