Planning the essay involves dividing it into three sections; the introduction, the body, the conclusion and simply listing all the points you want to cover in the main body. b) Background information Background information depends on how complex the topic is, personal knowledge that one has, the target audience and the type of essay to be undertaken. Collect all the information and all details which will support the thesis, thesis must be arguable opinion and that your opinion is not a fact but you will use facts to support it. The topic should be clearly defined and well understood by the writer. The opinions should be backed by hard data to attract the attention of the audience and accuracy be maintained always. c) Title Entice the audience with a fascinating title; a well defined title captures the audience and readers interest to know what the article contains. Write the title with a purpose, an unattractive title can stop them from reading, before they find out how great the article is, thus one should keep himself limited to a particular aspect of the title. d) Introduction A captivating introduction will reel the audience by creating a natural desire to learn more about the topic. Create anticipation by providing a clue on what to come in the rest of the essay. The essay should contain relevant information and details of one point. Include supportive and transitional sentences in the paragraph; this ensures that the subject is fully explained. e) Personal Conversation Try to engage the audience in a conversation by weaving in words that makes the reader to read on; try to make the topic to come alive. f) Conclusion Conclusion provides a final view of the topic .It should have a simple review of the main points and a description of the writers feeling about the topic. Make a dramatic conclusion that leaves the audience with a powerful reminder of your literacy presence. Give an impressive standard on which to compare all the literacy in the future. In summary write good notes, organize materials logically, express oneself clearly and cite the source if necessary. One should also emphasize on the use of variety of text and length, simple sentence does not sound good, long sentences may also look confusing and boring. If one uses a quotation that is longer than three lines, then the lines should be separated by use of a space. Writing software can be used to polish and perfect the essay. Writing a good essay can thus be achieved by planning well. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
