Overview: - The Unibind ST1025 is the largest and most feature-rich Unibind binding system available on the market.
- The
ST1025 has ten heating units for binding up to fifty documents at a
time. It also has nine cooling racks and the ability to store up to
2400 Unibind covers.
- All of these features are included in a
convenient portable design that provides a comfortable work area and
the ability to wheel the unit out of the way when it is not in use.
Strengths / Features: - Of
all the units offered by Unibind, the ST1025 provides the most
productivity and performance. This machine comes with ten heating
elements and nine cooling racks. Each of the heating elements is 25mm
wide and can bind up to five documents at one time. The total binding
capacity of this unit is 250mm. The arches that you see on the top of
this machine can be moved and adjusted to best fit your specific
binding needs. This is a great feature for helping to maximize
productivity.
- Having ten heating units on the ST-1025 greatly
increase its productivity over the six elements included on the XU638.
Each of these heating units operates separately on this machine. This
allows the operator to bind documents as fast as they can prepare them
by placing them directly into an empty heating unit on the machine.
Each unit has its own LED light to tell you when it is binding and when
it is finished. Having ten individually operated heating compartments
allows the ST-1025 to bind your documents as fast or faster than you
can assemble them.
- The Unibind ST1025 unit is more than just
a binding machine. The heating and cooling units are mounted to the top
of a heavy duty metal cart. The cart is designed to store up to 2400
Unibind covers in convenient roll out drawers. This means that your
covers and supplies will always be within reach when you are binding
your documents.
- The ST1025 is also portable. It is mounted on
four heavy duty castors to allow you to wheel it around your office as
needed. This means that you can conveniently roll it into a corner out
of the way when it isn't being used.
- This machine is
approximately 43 inches high. This allows you to use the machine as a
work surface for preparing your documents and presentations. There is
room on the left side of the machine for operators to work with unbound
presentations and proposals.
- This machine is capable of being
used with all of the different styles of Unibind binding supplies. It
can easily handle SteelCrystal Covers, SteelMat Covers, Steelback
spines, Steelbook hard cases and Unibind Photobooks. This give your
organization a huge amount of flexibility to choose the look and feel
that best fits your documents.
Weaknesses / Limitations: - The
heating units on this machine are designed for handling documents that
are up to twelve inches in length. However, the supplies for Unibind
Binding are only available in limited lengths. Users who need to bind
longer documents will most likely find that Unibind is not a good fit
for their needs.
- Although the heating units on this machine
are only 25mm in width it is still possible to bind documents up to
36mm by simply removing one of the arches that separates two of the
heating units. However, binding documents larger than 36mm (1-1/2")
with Unibind is impossible since that is the largest spine size that
Unibind Makes.
- This unit is big and heavy. Without any
covers the ST1025 weighs about 220lbs. Luckily it is on wheels and can
be moved around without too many problems. However, picking up this
machine or moving it up and down stairs can be an issue. If you need a
lift gate or inside delivery on this machine you should make a note at
the time of ordering so that arrangements can be made.
Recommendation: - Large
printers that need to bind hundreds or thousands of documents per week
with Unibind will find that the ST1025 is by far the fastest machine
for the job.
- The large number of independently operated
heating units along with the great storage options and portability of
this machine make it an awesome choice for high volume users.
- The
only limitations to this system are its size and the limitations of the
Unibind binding style. If you can live with these things, the ST-1025
is the ideal way to Unibind.
