Seattle Realtors - Real Estate Seattle MLS

Some Seattle realtors call the University District "a microcosm of America" because of its diverse collection of people, while others liken it to Berkley, California. The U-District is characterized by unconventional shops like Andy Shiga's One World Shop, the local farmer's market, the Blue Moon Tavern, Big Time brewpub, the Grand Illusion Cinema, Second Time Around record store, Scarecrow Video and the ASUW Experimental College. People who hang out on "The Ave" have a natural disdain for corporate America and enjoy the edgy college town bubble they live in. As a haven for artists, 20somethings, students, transients, musicians, peace activists, beatniks and alternative voices, the real estate Seattle MLS shows you that the U-District is a place where the marginalized can truly feel at home.

"Our best hope is to build a firm residential neighborhood that values its diverse architectural and social heritage. Preservation efforts will help us do just that," Patty Whisler of the Seattle Neighborhood Service Center, remaked.

On one hand, an honest Seattle realtorwill have to admit that along with the free-spiritedness of the district comes the presence of year-round homeless people, many in their teens and early 20s, who fancy themselves members of the counter-culture. However, the presence of the roving gangs of vagabonds has declined over the years due to increased police patrolling. On the other hand, the Seattle realtors will add that "The Ave" is thee place to shop, eat on the cheap, catch a cup of coffee, or find discount travel services.

Beginning in 2016, the extension of the Light Link Rail system will connect the University of Washington with downtown Seattle, Capitol Hill, Rainier Valley and the Sea-Tac airport. The city's constantly working on new improvements that will keep residents happy and improve the authentic landscape. An $8 million street project widened sidewalks, added benches, created in-lane bus stops, added outdoor art and landscaping and fixed streetlights.

University students are scouring Real estate Seattle MLS to find their next frat house, apartment or townhome for 2008-2009. With all the bars, pizza places, retail shops, parties and cafes, they'll definitely feel right at home in this "college town." Teachers will love living in a large turn-of-the-century home, so close to work and yet so close to cultural landmarks like the Washington Park Arboretum, The Burke Museum and The Henry Art Museum.

The University District housing that appears on the Real estate Seattle MLS comes in all shapes and sizes. Victorian houses built in the late 1800s can go for as much as $400,000 - $600,000. Many single family residences have also been divided up into college student apartments. Seattle realtors show Tudor Revivals, modern townhomes, Cape Cods and a predominant selection of early 1900s Craftsman style homes. Downtown, a few Art Decos and Neo-classical relics remain.
