We all have several suggestions to make Mumbai a world-class city but nothing is materialising as we do not know from where to start. For the first time in India's planning history, construction professionals from across the globe and our country along with top government officials will come under one roof to discuss and take forward the suggestions put forth by experts. CTBUH 2010 World Conference- Mumbai will discuss ‘Remaking Sustainable Cities in the Vertical Age' from 3rd-5th February 2010 at Hotel Renaissance, Powai. Cities like Denver, Houston, Montreal etc have poor sustainability because the model of central commercial areas and far-flung houses/cottages creates need for lots of travelling and laying of infrastructure. Dense, mixed use planning like Hong Kong and Singapore are far more sustainable models. The real situation that countries such as India and China face - as well as large parts of the developed world - is not necessarily how to create new sustainable cities where the urban slate is wiped clean, but how to re-make existing cities in a sustainable way. Mumbai Real Estate needs to be RE DEVELOPED as it is already a built city. This is true for most Indian metros. Mumbai is already growing vertically but it's important that our development should be sustainable and eco friendly. How we plan to do this is the question. This conference will debate the urban and policy issues, while also considering what role tall buildings and increased urban density will play. The Conference will provide an ideal platform to learn from 70+ global speakers, network with around 800 developers, high-rise building owners, planners, architects, engineers, consultants, project managers and the academicians, understand the current economic climate, gain knowledge and insights in the latest trends of urban planning in the lines of sustainable development and international skyscraper design and development, update your skills, stay current on the design and construction industry, new technology and emerging trends, learn best practices in the field of sustainable development, share knowledge and information and provide quality business leads and enhance existing business models. The world Conference will see over 70 global speakers who will talk about their varied experiences. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
