The average person is usually pretty honest and often believes everyone else is too. But when it comes to property investment seminars it pays to be aware that it could be dodgy. These seminars are often free and are advertised as educational. That's all right as far as it goes, but if the attendees express an interest in going along with the investment options they'll find they are charged a bomb for any further instruction. The people who run these seminars do so in the hopes of getting 'customers' for their investment proposals. They may offer plans of property that does not even exist and the poor - or rather, foolish - unsuspecting investor ends up losing all his money. If the property does indeed exist, the investor may be wrongly advised to buy multiple properties at once, with an increasingly high outlay. This he is supposed to recoup by availing himself of the various 'investment secrets' known only to these elite few. What actually happens is that he finds himself increasingly mired in the muddy waters of debt from which he may never recover. Many of these scams are to do with property on the Gold Coast, so if pays to be doubly careful when attending any seminar about them, but other areas are now increasingly being targeted.
