Property hotspots are those where the price of properties constantly escalates, thus giving investors good capital gains returns on their investments. But how do you find a property hot spot? There are certain keys to look for. Sea change is a big factor. So many people want to move to the coast for a lifestyle change or to retire that coastal locations are prime areas for investment. More recent property booms have made those who want to buy a home look elsewhere than the traditional areas. This means country areas have become popular, so long as they are still within a few hours drive of the city. If the country doesn't appeal, look for those good steady suburbs that are rock solid. They have good amenities like public transport, schools, quality shopping and café culture. They are often closer to the inner city. If those areas are too expensive, look to the next suburb because growth is like the ripples in a pond; it goes outwards. Look for new roads or rail links. These are what open up areas previously too inaccessible to be growth areas. Properties near to golf courses, rivers, ocean, lakes or harbours are usually prime areas and less affected by downturns.
