Deep Ellum Neighborhood is compact and exciting, filled with artists, musicians and craftsmen all looking to become the next big thing. If you've never been to Dallas, the Deep Ellum neighborhood is located just to the east of the US 75 freeway that runs elevated through a portion of downtown Dallas and to the north of Exposition Park and to the south of the neighborhood known as Bryce Place. Today, Deep Ellum is an interesting mix of high priced apartments and affordable hidden gems that still attract artists and musicians looking to make it big. Recent newspaper articles have bemoaned how high priced some parts of the traditionally blue collared area has become, but the spirit of Deep Ellum is still there and still ready to make beautiful music with those looking to make it big. The main entertainment district today in Deep Ellum is located on Main and Elm streets, just like it has been for generations. The names of the clubs might have changed, but the spirit remains the same. The schoolchildren of Deep Ellum attend the Dallas Independent School District and attend one of two high schools in the area and one of two elementary and middle schools that serve the area, as well.
