Before you buy your dream property, get these necessary inspections done so it doesn't turn into a nightmare. If your house is made from timber make sure you get a termite inspection. Termites can eat their way up through the foundations and attack the framework without anyone seeing them. Damage can cost thousands of dollars to put right. And in fact, it can pose an injury risk if you fall through eaten out floorboards. Dampness and waterproofing are two issues that need to be inspected. There are various problems that can cause dampness and you need to find out if it's due to the roof leaking or poor waterproofing. Cheaper housing can be poorly constructed, with some building steps missed out. Even the wrong kind of planter boxes on the patio can cause the floor to rot. While termites do not usually trouble timber-free, high-rise apartments, they have their own set of potential troubles that can be revealed by doing a body corporate search. Make sure that disputes are few - you'll find out by reading the minutes of meetings - and that there is enough money in the sinking fund for future maintenance. Otherwise, you could be hit with a levy of several thousand dollars just after you buy in. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
