The basics of home security are really common sense. Thieves like darkness and cover to carry out their criminal activities, so removing these two elements from your home and surroundings will be a big deterrent. External lighting will take care of dark spots and keeping shrubbery down from around windows will reduce the cover. The only time you needn't remove the cover is if it consists of really thorny rose bushes. These will become a good hindrance. New, sturdy locks are also important and it's no good having them if your doors are made from something flimsy. Internal doors are certainly not strong enough for external as most are hollow. The doorframe must be strong too, and the locks attached by longer than usual screws that penetrate right through the frames. Having a monitored alarm system will give you great peace of mind, as the company will attend to any alarm when you are away. Even when you are home, these alarms only need one touch of the button to summon help, not only from police, but also the services of fire engines and ambulance. And when you have a monitored alarm system in place, your insurance fees are often reduced. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
