Just as when buying a house, there are certain things you should look out for when you are buying that new apartment. Noise is one thing that apartment dwellers must be on the watch for. It's a great deal more likely that noisy neighbours will trouble you because they live just beyond your walls. For this reason, take a good look at the flooring. While wooden flooring may look great, it is noisy to walk on and if your neighbours have it, you'll hear every step they take. And they will hear yours. Research is necessary to find out what floor covering is usual in the complex - and whether the neighbours' interests are noisy or quiet. Many apartments are not on the ground floor so look at the accessibility of those apartments that interest you. Think who is likely to visit you. If you have older parents - or if you have a baby in pram or stroller - is there a lift to make access easier? Are there secure parking facilities and security lights? Sacrificing outside space may be difficult if you have enjoyed a house and garden most of your life. Not all apartments have balconies and those that do may be on the shady side of the building. A bit of sun is important for health. If there is no balcony, maybe there is a park nearby. Thinking carefully about all the things you want before you buy will ensure you get something that really suits your lifestyle. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
