Being a Better Apartment Resident |

No matter where you live, neighbours are a fact of life and the secret to having a good neighbour is often to be one. Treating your neighbours with courtesy and respect when you live in an apartment is necessary, to have a good life. Remember that you share walls and your floor is their ceiling or vice-versa, so any inappropriately loud noises - especially at night - will disturb them. You wouldn't want to be disturbed in this way and neither do they, so treating them as you would like to be treated will lead to happy neighbours and a better life. While many noises such cannot be avoided during the day, most night noises can. Loud music of any kind blasting through the building is inappropriate and will make your neighbours grumpy. If you love loud music, get headphones so that you can hear it, but others cannot. Watching out for your neighbour is a friendly thing to do; if you see anything suspicious, don't hesitate to report it immediately. If you were in trouble, you'd appreciate the help of a friendly neighbour. Greeting your neighbours in a friendly manner when you meet them in the lobby or lift will increase your sense of community and may bring you a friend who will be able to help out in a jam, such as babysitting occasionally. And cleaning up after yourself when using community areas is something that everyone will appreciate. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
