In the beginning, when I set up my profile, I was completely honest about myself. But, in the hindsight, I feel I probably shouldn't have done that.

Does that mean a you should never honest about yourself during dating online? No, be honest as much as it is essential to protect yourself. For instance, there is no need to divulge you cell phone number or home address while you set up your profile in on line dating sites. Besides, my personal experience says you should never be honest about your feelings, emotions, or even future plans. The on line dating world is over-populated with emotional cons who are prying on others feelings and emotions.

There are many who feel that they can win the hearts of other people by being totally honest with them in on line dating. So they express everything starting from their dreams, ambitions to future plans in their profiles, which is a potential mistake. I personally have been emotionally abused many times due to the mistake of being totally honest about myself with the hope of attracting compatible single males.

Take it from me - it's too difficult to figure out if the person you are trying to establish the relationship with is being as honest with you as you are with him. The emotional cons and leeches try to extract the personal and private details from you and then coax you into their net even before you know it. And by the time you wake up to the truth, it's already too late. Think twice before you want to express your personal information just to win the heart of your prospective date. Instead, let them earn their way to your innermost thoughts.

On line dating is effective but you have to play safe. Remember - no one can ‘drive' you crazy unless you give them ‘keys'.
