But chunk of memories sometimes play such a great role inspiring a society, a nation or even the entire world. Raj Loomba, the UK based NRI and the founder of the UK based Rinku Group Plc. is no less than a living legend. With a mission to do something and a vision to see something, this Punjab born man has shown the world that poverty can never be a barrier in winning success. After losing his father at the tender age of 12 years, Loomba's sole inspiration was his mother, Srhrimati Pushpawati Loomba. Being an uneducated lady herself, Pushpawati Devi proved herself to be a far-sighted woman by inspiring her 7 children by injecting the true value of education in everyone's blood. Widowed at 37 years, she never fell short on courage. That was the crucial thing, Loomba still says about his mother. Pushpawati Loomba left the earthly life in 1992 but her memories - memories of nurturing a generation still works wonder for many. That is why, Raj Loomba and his wife, Veena Loomba established the Loomba Trust in the UK on June 26, 1997 with the motif of upliftment of the condition of the children of poor widows across India.

With the auspicious presence of the then British Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair and his wife Cherie Blair QC, The Loomba Trust was officially launched on March 25, 1998. On September 8, 2004 Cherie Blair QC also inaugurated the Loomba House in London. The Loomba Trust has now grown up to a full-fledged charitable organization with great missions in its front. The Trust has already achieved its target of educating at least 1000 children of poor widows across 29 states throughout India.

Managing a candid acumen towards his social works, Loomba nurtures his orphaned cause like no other. In his words, ""I believe in social service as a precaution rather than a cure". The Loomba Trust also celebrates International Widows Day on 23rd June every year, highlighting the situation of widows and their children all over the world providing necessary focus for effective action. Some of the prominent trustees in Loomba Trust are Sir Richard Branson, Brijesh Nayyar, Pankaj Nayyar, Cherie Blair QC, Shamin and Nadira Lalji. The Loomba Trust also runs capacity-building programs for 5 community-based organisations benefiting 1,500 HIV/AIDS affected children in South Africa. Those who think about the weaker section of the society can make their contributions through the Loomba Trust. Because, spending for a noble cause is always considered greater than earning for oneself!
