Fixing a Palm Treo 700P Cracked Screen |

Technology, it is so great when working well. Here in New Jersey, we have our choice of using a PDA or a Key card for unlocking our lock boxes which we place on our listings. I chose to use the PDA this time because I always have it with me verses the key card which I had before but would always forget and then need on short notice. The problem is, the palm pda, though very nice, very useful, is also very fragile. I had it in my case yesterday while playing catch with my son. While bending down to pick up the baseball, it fell with the case, and bang, the screen shattered. Now wouldn't anyone expect that any cell phone should be able to take a 2 foot drop while in its protective case? Since I need this phone to work, today I am taking the Phone in to Portatronics in NYC as they purport to be able to fix the phone. I have not been able to find a phone number for them but I am going to take a chance and drive into the city and see if it can be fixed. Then I can get back out to selling homes. I will post if they fixed the phone and how it turned out. Looking at purchas a touch screen / digitizer for the PDA, shipping back to Convent Station NJ is only two days. Update: 05/24/2007 Have purchased the Touch Screen / Digitizer and It should arrive today. Have watched YouTube Video several times on replacing the LCD with is similar to doing what I need to do. Got the Touch Screen / Digitized today. Surgery is scheduled for this evening. Installed the Touch Screen / Digitizer and it works great, took about a hour of working on it.
