Internet banking has many advantages, not the least of which is the ability to access your finances and pay bills from the comfort and privacy of your own home. You don't have to struggle with traffic, find a parking place, keep the children happy, or wait in a queue when you bank online. Nor do you have to worry about the time. Banks shut their doors at 5pm, but the Internet never closes and neither does Internet banking. You can pay bills at midnight should you so desire. You can also transfer funds from one account to another quickly and easily. There is no waiting for that statement to arrive to find out just how much cash you have, or whether a cheque has been cleared. You can go online and find out immediately. Better still, the fees are often lower or non-existent for electronic accounts while the interest can be much higher than an ordinary savings account. You can even apply online for a loan and be approved much more quickly than if you had to make an appointment and then wait for approval in real time. While there are some banks that are online only, with no bricks and mortar to go to, most of them combine the two. Electronic banking saves them time and money, but there is still staff available to service your needs when necessary. So you can have the best of both worlds.
