Harmonise your Hairstyle with Your Wardrobe to Create an Impact

Whether you like it or not, in today's society, image is everything. Indeed, it's believed that it takes a mere three seconds for someone to form an opinion about you, based on your appearance. And although many men would argue that they don't care what others think, projecting an appropriate image is important not only for gaining self-confidence, but also for helping you to achieve the goals you want in life.

Therefore, regardless of whether you're looking to attract a partner or land yourself a great job, it makes sense to ensure that you're aware of how to tailor your style and, thus, communicate the image you want others to have of you. The two key elements to consider then, include your wardrobe and your hairstyle.

For example, if you're a fun loving guy looking to break into the entertainment industry, turning up for an interview in a boring suit that last saw the light at your high school graduation, complete with tacky tie and long, greasy hair just isn't going to pass muster. Consequently, you need to tailor how you look, in order to fit into the image of the company you want to work for.

Checking out the trends in the high street stores is a great way to discover what male styles are current, as is surfing the internet. Just remember that you shouldn't copy everything you see on the catwalk, but should instead try to incorporate a few key looks into your style.

A good tip is to buy a few wardrobe staples, like a classic suit and shoes, which will last you for a couple of years and then make the look current with in-season accessories, like ties, shirts, belts and hats, etc. This year, for example, cardigans are back with a serious vengeance, as are check shirts and peacoats. As such, it can be easy and relatively cheap to create a current look, without having to go overboard and buy a whole new wardrobe every year.

Your hairstyle is also important and should complement both your personality and clothing style. However, you should also feel comfortable with how it looks and feels. If you're uncertain about what to do, or which style suits your look, it can be a good idea to schedule a consultation with a hairdresser before going for the chop. If you're wary of opting for an ultra-trendy style, go for something more classic and use styling products to change your look for different occasions and outfits.

It doesn't have to be difficult to create a stylish and unique look that ties in with your lifestyle. You just need to be aware of where to look and how to tailor the key fashion trends to your existing wardrobe. A new haircut is great for refreshing your look and adding some funk to an outfit, whilst the range of mens clothing available on the high street is great for keeping you in touch with what is on-trend.
